Freedom Bank SuperApp Launches Embedded eSIM for Global Connectivity
Freedom Bank Kazakhstan expands its SuperApp with an embedded eSIM miniapp, enabling instant activation of global mobile data — including unlimited plans — bringing seamless connectivity and digital banking together for modern, mobile users.
Freedom Bank Kazakhstan JSC, one of Central Asia’s most advanced digital banks, has expanded its digital ecosystem with the launch of an embedded eSIM miniapp inside the Freedom SuperApp, powered by Boxo. The new feature allows users to purchase, activate, and manage international mobile data plans directly within the app — including unlimited data plans available for up to 30 days, alongside standard fixed-data options.
Freedom Bank is part of Freedom Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: FRHC), a diversified international financial group operating across 22 countries. The Freedom SuperApp serves as the digital centre of this ecosystem, bringing together banking, investments, mortgages, insurance, marketplaces, travel services, and now global mobile connectivity.
Extending the Freedom SuperApp Beyond Traditional Banking
Freedom Bank has built a strong reputation as a regional leader in digital financial innovation. It was the first bank in Kazakhstan to launch fully digital mortgages, the first to introduce investment-based cashback, and one of the pioneers of end-to-end online auto lending in Central Asia.
The introduction of an embedded eSIM miniapp continues this trajectory, extending the SuperApp beyond core financial services into high-utility, everyday use cases that support how users travel, work, and stay connected globally.
With the eSIM miniapp, Freedom users can now:
Activate eSIMs instantly without visiting a branch or purchasing a physical SIM card
Choose between standard fixed-data plans or unlimited data plans for up to 30 days
Manage usage, switch plans, and top up directly inside the Freedom SuperApp
The availability of unlimited plans offers added flexibility for frequent travellers, remote workers, and users who require consistent, high-volume connectivity while abroad.
Designed for a Globally Mobile User Base
Freedom Bank’s customers are increasingly mobile — travelling for business, working remotely across borders, or managing international commitments. Traditional roaming solutions often introduce friction through unpredictable costs, physical SIM cards, or unreliable connectivity.
By embedding eSIM activation directly into the Freedom SuperApp, the bank removes these pain points and delivers a seamless, digital-first connectivity experience that mirrors the simplicity users expect from modern financial services.
“We want all essential services — from finance to lifestyle — to be available in one place. Traveling should be as easy as sending money or paying for a purchase,” said Vyacheslav Kim, CEO of Freedom SuperApp.
This integration positions the Freedom SuperApp as a practical companion not just for financial management, but for global mobility and everyday digital needs.
Powered by Boxo’s Embedded Miniapp Infrastructure
The eSIM miniapp is delivered through Boxo’s superapp SDK, which enables digital banks and platforms to embed services such as eSIMs, travel, airport lounges, bill payments, and commerce through a single integration.
Boxo manages the complexity behind the scenes, including global telecom partnerships, carrier provisioning, plan catalogues, settlement, and compliance. This allows Freedom Bank to rapidly introduce new digital verticals while maintaining a secure, native user experience.
“Freedom SuperApp continues to raise the bar for what a modern digital banking ecosystem can offer. Embedding global eSIM connectivity — including flexible unlimited data options — brings together two essentials of everyday life: money and mobility,” said Kaniyet Rayev, CEO of Boxo.
Strengthening Freedom Bank’s Digital Ecosystem
With the launch of the eSIM miniapp, Freedom Bank further strengthens its position as a lifestyle-centric digital platform. The addition of flexible connectivity options, including unlimited data plans for extended travel, enhances user engagement and reinforces the SuperApp’s role as a single destination for both financial and non-financial services.
As Freedom Bank continues to expand its ecosystem, embedded services like eSIM connectivity represent a key pillar in delivering convenience, flexibility, and real-world value to millions of users.
