Snoop Dogg Tops Celebrity Crypto Rich List with $17M Portfolio

ApeX Protocol research reveals the top 10 celebrity crypto earners, with Snoop Dogg leading at $17M, followed by Serena Williams and NFL star Saquon Barkley. Musicians and athletes dominate the rankings, highlighting growing celebrity influence in digital assets.

Bitcoin has gained over 160M users worldwide in the last 5 years, with high-profile celebrity endorsements contributing to cryptocurrency adoption. A new study by the decentralized crypto exchange ApeX Protocol studied celebrity crypto earnings to find out who made the biggest profits.

The research calculated each celebrity's estimated cryptocurrency wealth from publicly reported investments, NFT sales records, and verified business deals. Each celebrity also received an influence score from 1 to 10 based on their reputation in crypto communities and how consistently they've been involved in digital assets.

Here's a look at the top 10 celebrities with the most valuable crypto portfolios:

Musicians Cashing In on Crypto

Musicians are the artists who make the biggest profit from crypto investments. Snoop Dogg ranks first as America's top celebrity crypto earner with $17M. The rapper became one of the biggest NFT collectors under the pseudonym 'Cozomo de' Medici' and has launched music collaborations in metaverse worlds. Grimes has a crypto portfolio worth $6M, made from selling her WarNymph NFT art collection. Steve Aoki follows her in 6th place, earning more from crypto than from his musical career and generating $4M from NFT sales.

Winning Big: Athletes and Crypto Fortunes

Athletes make up over half of the list of celebrities with the largest crypto portfolios, including Serena Williams, Lionel Messi, and Floyd Mayweather. Serena Williams owns the 2nd largest crypto portfolio among celebrities, worth $15M. Serena invests in major crypto companies like Coinbase and Bitski and focuses on long-term value creation rather than quick gains.

Lionel Messi ranks seventh, collecting $2M through soccer-related crypto deals. Messi received part of his PSG signing bonus in fan tokens and launched NFTs with Ethernity Chain. Floyd Mayweather rounds up the top 10, with $375K earned from promotional NFT drops. He has released multiple NFT drops and sponsored EthereumMax.

NFL Players Are Increasingly Turning to Crypto

The top 10 list features three NFL players who are very interested in digital currencies. Saquon Barkley holds the third position with $10M in crypto. The player converts all endorsement earnings to Bitcoin and advocates for financial independence among athletes, representing a growing trend of professional athletes using cryptocurrency for wealth preservation.

Russell Okung secures 4th place with $6.5M. He is the first NFL player to take his salary in Bitcoin, and he remains a vocal advocate for digital currency adoption. Tom Brady holds eighth position with $650K remaining after the FTX collapse. The former NFL quarterback founded the Autograph NFT platform and served as an FTX ambassador before the exchange's collapse.

"Celebrity involvement legitimizes crypto for mainstream audiences who might otherwise avoid it," says the spokesperson from ApeX Protocol. "When regular people see trusted figures like athletes and musicians investing seriously, it reduces the perception that crypto is just speculation or gambling. This technology also offers celebrities new ways of monetization. Traditional celebrity income relies on gatekeepers: record labels, movie studios, and sports leagues. On the other hand, digital assets allow direct monetization of fan relationships without those middlemen taking cuts."
